It has been so long since I have updated the blog. We are doing well and the boys are growing like weeds. Here are some highlights from 2009!!!
The inaguration of the first African American President Barack Obama. There was no way we were going to miss that!!
FEBRUARY 2009
Niko turned three and we had a Yo Gabba Gabba party, with Sule in the role of DJ Lance Rock!!! If you don't know who DJ Lance rock is google it , Sule fits the part perfectly in this outfit!
Amari had a spectacular soccer season with his team Lightening!!! He also played basketball for the YMCA. We were very busy in the spring
MAY 2009
Amari graduated from Pre-K. I was so excited and proud of Amari. He is growing up so fast and is a very intelligent and curious little boy.
This is Amari's classmate Lauren. They were two peas in a pod, she gave Amari her number and told him to call her. I could not believe it!! Children wanting to call each other on the phone in Pre-K lol
SUMMER 2009
This summer the kids has a blast. I taught summer camp and this was the first year that the boys attended summer camp. Amari was in camp grasshopper and Niko was in camp wiggles and giggles both camps were held at my job ( Atlanta Speech School). The kids loved all of the camp activities. We decided to do a stay-cation this summer so I stocked up on sprinklers, a mini pool and of course slip and slide!!
Amari could not get the hang of the slip and slide, he kept sliding off and he was beginning to get frustrated
Yea!!! Amari finally got the hang of the slip and slide. He wanted to play on it everyday. Niko did not like the slip and slide he was content with just running through the sprinkler and playing in the pool.
AUGUST 2009
After a fun filled and scorching hot summer, it was time to get ready for the start of school. Amari began kindergarten at Imagine Wesley International Academy and Niko started preschool in the stepping stones program at the Atlanta Speech School. I was very nervous for both boys but they started school with flying colors and no tears (except from me). They gave me a hug and they were off.
Amari was so excited he even likes wearing uniforms.

OCTOBER 2009
For Halloween this year Amari wanted to be a transformer. So guess who else wanted to be a transformer. We took the boys to Atlantic station to do some arts and crafts and visit a few stores to get some candy. They had so much fun. We were home well before dark so the kids were able to stay in their costumes and pass out candy to the trick or treaters who came to our door.
One of our neighbors carved a pumpkin, it wasn't the most appropriate for the kids but Sule and I thought it was hilarious.
November 2009
Amari turned 6 years old. It is hard to believe, the time has gone by so fast. Amari was insisting on having a space themed birthday party. So I had to put my thinking cap on and plan something that was out of this world. We had someone come to the house to do a space adventure with the kids. They dug for moon rocks, ate astronaut ice cream, made and launched water rockets, made space gummies, created silly putty and Amari got to demonstrate a volcano for his friends. The kids had an awesome time, I can't wait to start planning for next year!!

DECEMBER 2009
The boys had a great christmas they enjoyed being with family, thankful for baby Jesus and of course had a ball giving and opening presents.
