Summer Vacation:Maryland

On our way to New York we stopped in Maryland to visit friends and family. We also took the kids to their favorite park. When we lived in Maryland we spent a lot of time in Watkins Park. They have a miniature golf course, a carousel, a petting zoo, and a train ride around the park.





Niko loved playing golf. He would jump up and say "I did it" when he hit the ball in the hole.

Summer Vacation:Sesame Place

We had a fabulous summer vacation we took a road trip to New York and made many stops along the way. We went to Sesame Place in Pennsylvania. It is a Seasame Street themed water/ amusement park. They had an absolute blast.

Amari and Niko loved the water. The water rides were perfect for children their age.
Amari was such a big boy he rode the lazy river without mommy or daddy!! The water was only 1 1/2 feet deep and the ride was less than 1 minute. I could also watch him the entire time. He was so excited that he rode it 10 times!!! We had to make him move on to the next activity.

Niko insisted on getting on this climbing net because Amari and Daddy were climbing. I finally gave in after a lot of screaming. I decided I would climb on with him so that he would have an easier time and it would not be so scary. My plan failed and we both had to be rescued by daddy!!

This ride was so cute. It went high in the air and there was a button inside that Niko could push to make it go up and down. He loved it!!

A Trip to Zoo Atlanta

We decided to get up early and take the boys to the zoo. It was a great idea until we realized that it was going to be 95 degrees that day!!! It was so hot.

They had a great time in the petting zoo. I was a little nervous, but the animals were obviously used to thousands of children poking them that they just laid there unamused.







We rode the train hoping to get a much needed breeze.
Amari was over it and was ready to go. I think that was our shortest zoo trip ever. We went to Grant Central Pizza Parlor for some good food and much needed air conditioning. Amari said "Mom next time can we skip the zoo and come right to the pizza place" I told him " you don't really want to do that , that's just the heat talking" then he replied "heat talks!" All I could do was laugh.

Photos Galore

Amari and Niko had a great time posing for pictures. One of my clients took pictures of the boys playing in their yard.

It was very warm that day and Amari and Niko were overdue for haircuts, but they had fun and we were able to get a few good shots.


It was so difficullt getting them ready to take these pictures. I planned out their outfits but it was too warm to wear what I picked out. We were very late getting to the house and once we got their I realized that I did not bring shoes and socks for the kids. Thank goodness my car is junky and I was able to dig out a pair of flip flops.

Niko insisted on hanging from this tree. He had a fit when I took him down.

A Visit with Papa Sammy

We had a great week celebrating Aaron's graduation. Amari


and Niko got lots of attention from their grandpa.

Uncle Aaron's Graduation May 2008

Amari and Niko were well behaved during Uncle's
big day.

We are so proud of Aaron. He worked hard and graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a degree in Mass Communications. What a great example for his nephews.

After the ceremony we took Aaron out for lunch at No Mas Cantina. The boys had a great time hanging out with their uncle and celebrating his accomplishments.
